What Is My Dosha?

Ten questions on appetite, digestion, sleep, and stress. The result is Vata, Pitta, Kapha, or a mix — and the kind of plate that pattern usually likes.

A what is my dosha quiz reads appetite, digestion, sleep, and stress over years, not over a bad week. It is free. The result stays on this page. No email and no signup.

Educational only. A dosha is a traditional constitution, not a lab test and not a diagnosis.

Question 1 of 10

Key takeaways

  • Dosha here means a lifelong pattern: Vata, Pitta, or Kapha. A close score is a dual, or Tridoshic when all three are even.
  • Answer for years of appetite, digestion, sleep, and stress. A bad week is not your constitution.
  • Vata likes warm, regular meals. Pitta likes meals on time and less heat. Kapha likes a lighter plate.
  • The type does not set calories or protein. Those still follow your goal and your size.
  • This is not a diagnosis, and it is not the body type quiz or the Kibbe quiz.

What is my dosha?

In Ayurveda a dosha is the pattern you tend to return to: how easily you get cold, how sharp your hunger is, how deep you sleep, how you react when a day goes wrong. Vata is light, dry, cold, and changeable. Pitta is hot, sharp, and intense. Kapha is heavy, steady, and slow to start. Most people are a mix. One dosha usually leads.

The pattern is traditional. It is not a blood test, not a metabolic rate, and not a body-fat reading. Two people with the same dosha can need very different calories. Use the result for the character of the plate. Use a TDEE calculator for the amount.

What's your dosha?

The same three patterns: Vata, Pitta, or Kapha. A close score is a pair, and an even score is Tridoshic. Nothing about the question changes the quiz.

What dosha am I?

Ten questions score appetite, digestion, temperature, skin, energy, sleep, stress, the frame you have had for years, how your mind works, and which meal feels right when you are well. The dosha with the most points wins, and only if it leads by two or more. A one-point gap is a dual on purpose. If all three sit together, the result is Tridoshic.

Answer for the person you have been across years, not for this week of travel, a new diet, or a short night. A Vata week of skipped meals can look like your constitution when it is only the week. If you have been eating in a way that already matches one dosha, the quiz will echo that. Read it, then notice hunger for a few ordinary days.

How the dosha quiz is scored

Each answer adds one point to Vata, Pitta, or Kapha. If the leader is ahead by two or more points, that dosha is the result. If the top two are tied or one point apart, and the third is further behind, the result is the pair: Vata–Pitta, Pitta–Kapha, or Vata–Kapha. If all three scores sit within one point, the result is Tridoshic. A close quiz means your meals should respect both patterns, not that the quiz failed.

The questions do not ask for weight, a photo, or a calorie number. Frame is one question, and it means the build you have had for years, not the size you are trying to change this month.

Vata, Pitta, and Kapha

Dosha The pattern The plate
VataLight, cold, dry, changeable. Hunger and sleep come and go.Warm, cooked, regular meals, with some oil.
PittaHot, sharp, driven. Hunger arrives on time and gets intense.Meals on time. Less of the very spicy, fried pattern.
KaphaSteady, heavy, slow to start. Fullness lasts.Lighter meals, more vegetables, some spice.

Is this dosha quiz free?

Yes. There is no account and no email. Many dosha quizzes send the result to an inbox. This one shows it on the page as soon as you finish the tenth question.

Does dosha replace calories?

No. Dosha suggests whether the plate should be warmer and more regular, fresher and on time, or lighter and more spiced. It does not print a calorie number. A Vata and a Kapha with the same weight and the same goal can need the same intake. One still does better not skipping. The other still does better not stacking a second heavy plate.

Protein grams come from a protein intake calculator. If you want the plate chosen from how food feels two hours later, take the metabolic type quiz. That one sorts protein, carb, and mixed. It is a different question.

Dosha is not a body type

Hourglass, pear, apple, rectangle, and inverted triangle are outlines. Kibbe types are clothing lines. A dosha is appetite, temperature, sleep, and stress over years. A light frame can be Pitta. A solid frame can be Vata in the mind and the digestion. Use the body type quiz for clothes that follow the outline, and the Kibbe body type quiz for sharp against soft. Use this page for the meal pattern.
